Our editorial team
Here at Exploration, we would not be able to do what we do without our team of voluntary student and graduate editors. See below to find out more!
Ali became involved with Exploration whilst studying English Literature at Queen Mary, University of London. Before taking on the role of editor-in-chief, she had previously been the editor for both the Oceania and Latin America sections, respectively. She has travelled extensively and has recently returned from a bucket list classic: The Great American Road Trip. Ali first got involved with Exploration because she felt it was time — having kept travel diaries since the age of four — to hone her writing style and to expand her horizons beyond the signature Moleskin notebook. If you feel the same, get in touch with Ali at email@example.com.
At 22, Cadi has a degree in English Literature with Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. The last six years have been spent exploring East Africa and Nepal to combine her writing with her love for photography. A mountain and photojournalism addict, she’s determined graduate life will somehow allow her to return to the Himalayas. She spends her free time in her allotment and plans to put her hiking boots on as soon as possible to tackle New Zealand. Want to write for Cadi’s section? Contact her on firstname.lastname@example.org.
A graduate of English Literature and Film from Queen Mary, University of London, Amy has lived in the UK and Spain, and is planning to move Germany one day. She has major travel plans ranging from a Route 66 road trip to roaming across the Isle of Skye. She has a pet snail named Webster, a penchant for all things multi-coloured and an (unusual) ambition to discover the world’s best cheese. If you’d like to get in touch with Amy to discuss all this Europe, email her at email@example.com
Hannah is twenty-three years old and is studying a Master’s degree in Literature, Culture and Identity at the University of Portsmouth. She has travelled extensively in Europe and the Caribbean and uses her travels for inspiration, having written for Exploration for over two years before becoming the editor for Latin America. If you’re passionate about all things Latin American, get in touch with Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Middle East and Africa
Having been writing her book for ten years now, English Literature and Spanish graduate Kathryn has decided it is time to take her writing seriously. She is currently ‘sitting still’ for a while, having lived in Chile, spent many months in Malaysia and South East Asia and visited all sorts of places in between. When she isn’t writing or editing, she can probably be found hunting down vegan food, reading a book, being unwaveringly optimistic or showing off her travel photos to anyone who will look at them. If you want to write for Kathryn, get in touch with her at email@example.com
Nicola recently graduated from the University of East Anglia, with a degree in English Literature and Philosophy. She does most of her travelling mentally rather than physically; a real armchair globetrotter! Most current and future earnings are earmarked for The Holiday Fund, which will take her to the U.S. on the mother of all road trips as soon as it is plump enough. With this in mind, she edits the North America section- the closest she can get in her current poverty-stricken state! Are you an expert on all things Stateside? Email Nicola at firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved.
Charlie is an ESL Teacher and aspiring travel writer currently living and working in Bari, Italy. She loves knitting, eating and everything travel. When she’s not thrashing out English grammar conundrums with her students, Charlie can be found sampling the many fine pizzas, wines and cheeses Italy has to offer, and scribbling in her notebook about them. If you’d like to write for Oceania, drop Charlie an email at email@example.com and say hello!
